Bang On Time was sent out a short-priced favourite at Newcastle where she overcame a less than ideal run to repay her army of supporters.

The homebred daughter of Almanzor was tardily away and then had to shoulder into the clear late in the run home for rider Chad Lever to drive her to victory over 1250 metres.

Patiently handled by trainer Kerry Parker, the four-year-old was sent out at less than odds on following a debut second at Kembla Grange last month.

We sold her for $160,000 to Jamie Walter’s Proven Thoroughbreds and Parker at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale

She is a daughter of the Dehere mare Danahere, who was a talented racemare and won five times up to 2400 metres in Australia before we purchased her for A$130,000 at the Inglis Broodmare Sale.

A half-sister to Group winners Oceanex and Amexed, she has now produced six winners including Saint Patrick’s Day who was successful in an edition of the Listed Dalrello Stakes.

We race Danahere’s promising Hello Youmzain filly Hey Dana and earlier this year at Karaka sold a half-sister by Sword Of State for $120,000 to Ballymore Racing, Paul Moroney and Catheryne Bruggeman.
