Last Hello bid farewell to her maiden status with a determined display over 1200 metres at Riccarton.
Placed at her two previous appearances, the homebred daughter of Hello Youmzain left the outside barrier quickly to sit wide on the pace and held on strongly after hitting the front early in the run home.
“She jumped well and relaxed this time, and she really stuck it out well,” apprentice rider Floor Moerman said.
Last Hello in prepared at Ashburton by Emma Wyatt, who was thrilled to see her charge break through.
“She certainly deserved it and she’s a tough cookie. She has been doing a few things wrong, but she’s starting to put it all together.”
Last Hello is the first winner for the Pins mare Pinultimate, who has another filly by Hello Youmzain at foot.
The dam was successful on three occasions up to 1200 metres and is from a sharp family that features the G1 Railway Stakes winner Entriviere and the Karaka Million winer Xiong Feng.
