Booming return from Nedelin

Spirit Of Boom’s lightly raced son Nedelin showed he’s a horse to follow this preparation following a stylish first-up success over 1200 metres at Pukekohe.

We bred and race the three-year-old who finished fifth on debut last season and was then put aside by trainer Andrew Forsman after breaking his maiden on a spring trip to Tauherenikau.

Given two trial outings to ready him for his return, Nedelin worked across from a wide gate to settle third and responded to the urgings of our contracted rider Warren Kennedy in the run home to score with authority.

“His trials were good and he’s always showed a lot when he can get his toe in the ground,” Forsman’s Racing Manager Joe Walker said.

“He’s a good, tough horse and brings his best on race day.”

Nedelin is the first foal of the I Am Invincible mare A Proper Lady, who has since produced a pair of colts by Hello Youmzain and is currently in foal to Sword Of State.

A Proper Lady is out of a half-sister to Group 3 winners Gotta Have Heart and Swear and former stakes-winning juvenile Crossyourheart.

The G1 Hong Kong Sprint winner All Thrills Too and the G2 Royal Stakes winner and Group 1 performer Adaline are also members of this family.
