Well-bred Hello Youmzain filly scores

A filly with a rich Cambridge Stud pedigree looks destined to make her mark in stronger company after opening her account at Te Aroha.

Shiniqua was unplaced in her spring debut on a heavy track but has relished firmer surfaces since and finished runner-up at Avondale before going one better in style for trainer Stephen Autridge over 1400 metres.

She was quickly into stride from a wide barrier to sit on the leader’s quarters and was a willing partner for rider Jasmine Fawcett in the straight to claim major honours.

Bred and part-owned by Cambridge Hunt, Shiniqua is a daughter of our exciting shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain and the Shinko King mare Kabuki who is a half-sister to the late, great Tavistock.

Also on the pedigree page is the two-time G2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup winner Precedence.

All four of Kabuki’s foals to race have now been successful and she also has an unraced two-year-old by Almanzor named Kazuki.
