Genuine four-year-old Victory Command relished the rise in trip to 1800 metres to return to winning ways at Eagle Farm.
The well-related son of Pierro posted the third victory of his career for local trainer Barry Lockwood when he came from the back of the field for a dominant win.
Victory Command drifted to third last in the running before rider Luke Dempsey urged him forward across the top and our homebred lengthened stride effortlessly to put his Class 3 rivals to the sword.
Raced by Ron and Judy Wanless, Victory Command is out of the English-bred Makfi mare Subatomic and was secured out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale for $850,000.
The dam is a half-sister to international stakes winners Worldly, Nice Danon and Donativum and Savabeel colt was purchased at Karaka in 2023 by Chad Ormsby’s Riverrock Farm for $140,000.
As Unodostrescuatro, he has posted three minor placings from as many appearances.
Karson Choi, of Hong Kong, bought Subatomic’s colt by Hello Youmzain for $120,000 at Karaka earlier this year and the mare is back in foal to our exciting young shuttle stallion.
