Panda Alert launched his career in style at Warrnambool where our homebred romped to victory over 1400 metres.

Trained by Patrick and Michelle Payne, the son of Ocean Park’s first-up strike was no surprise as he had trialled well on The Heath at Caulfield before winning a trial at Mortlake.

The three-year-old broke well from the gates to take up a handy spot before he strode to the front at the top of the straight and produced a strong kick to score by two and a-quarter lengths.

“That was a really nice debut, he was well prepared by Patrick and Michelle, and I was very confident,” jockey Will Gordon said.

“He fought on really well and was just superior, he’s one with a lot of upside.”

Panda Alert was purchased out of our Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale draft by agent John Foote on behalf of the Hong Kong-based Price Bloodstock.

He is a son of the Irish-bred High Chaparral mare High Vogue, a half-sister to four-time Group 1 winner Luxembourg, who has now produced a trio of winners.

We sold her Sword Of State colt to KPW Bloodstock at Karaka earlier this year for $200,000 and she also has a yearling filly by our resident son of Snitzel.

A pair of Almanzor four-year-olds continued their hot Hong Kong form to credit our resident stallion with a winning double at Hong Kong.

Stud graduate Szeryng easily accounted for his Class 4 rivals over 1200 metres and earlier on the program The Auspicious was victorious in the same grade over 1600 metres.

We bred and sold the John Size-trained Szeryng, who was successful in the hands of Zac Purton and has now won two of his five starts.

He was sold through our 2023 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft to Patrick Payne for $150,000 and purchased by Hong Kong interests after winning a Seymour trial for the Victorian trainer.

Szeryng is a son of the Shamexpress mare Choctoc who is from the family of former champion three-year-old and multiple Group 1 winer Samanthan Miss.

Choctoc’s Hello Youmzain filly was sold at Karaka last year to KPW Bloodstock for $120,000 and she has since produced a daughter of Sword Of State, most recently a colt by Hello Youmzain before returning to Sword Of State.

The Monovale-bred The Auspicious was a $25,000 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale buy for Enigma Farm and relocated to Francis Tsui’s stable after placing in a juvenile trial from Ben and Ryan Foote’s stable.

He has won his last two starts with an overall record of three victories and five placings from 16 appearances.

The Auspicious is out of the Dylan Thomas mare Holly Holy, who won 10 races and her dam is a three-quarter sister to the G1 New Zealand Derby winer Hades.

Nedelin lacks experience but not talent as he showed when successful at Tauherenikau.

The son of Spirit Of Boom was sent south by trainer Andrew Forsman for his second start and our homebred and raced three-year-old wound up strongly in the closing stages to score over 1000 metres under Craig Grylls.

“He did a lot wrong and tracked a decent speed and then really put in for Craig in the last furlong,” Forsman’s Racing Manager Joe Walker said.

“He can be hard to get a line on at home, he saves his best for trials and race day.”

Fifth on debut at Te Aroha last month, he settled a handy fourth away from the fence and despite laying in down the home straight was too good for his older rivals.

Nedelin is the first foal of the I Am Invincible mare A Proper Lady, who has a yearling colt by Hello Youmzain and recently produced another son of our shuttle stallion.

The dam is out of a half-sister to Group 3 winners Gotta Have Heart and Swear and former stakes-winning juvenile Crossyourheart.

Also featuring on the pedigree page is the G1 Hong Kong Sprint winner All Thrills Too and the G2 Roya Stakes winner and Group 1 performer Adaline.

Our wait for Hey Dana’s first appearance at the races proved worthwhile when she made the perfect start to her career at Avondale.

The homebred filly stepped out over 1200 metres and produced a professional display to score a comfortable victory in the hands of Warren Kennedy.

She is by our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain, whose daughters Yousito and Shiniqua also combined for a one-two finish in the race following Hey Dana’s debut success.

“We’ve always thought a bit of her at home and she’s quite a big filly who is still learning,” trainer Lance Noble said.

“She has needed the extra time just to grow into herself really, I thought she may have needed a run to figure it all out, trials are different to races, so to do that is very encouraging.”

Off the back of two lead-up trials, Hey Dana bounced out of the gates to settle close to the pace and rounded off strongly in the closing 300 metres.

“We think she will go over a bit more ground and Warren said afterwards that for a filly to do that over 1200 metres is a very good sign,” Noble said.

“She got into a good position and there was enough speed for her to get her toe into the race.

“It’s a beautiful surface at Avondale and it all panned out for her and couldn’t be happier.”

Hey Dana is a daughter of the Dehere mare Danahere, who is a half-sister to the G2 Matriarch Stakes winner Oceanex and the G3 Rough Habit late winner Amexed.

Purchased at an Inglis Broodmare Sale for A$135,000, five of Danahere’s foals have been successful, including St Patrick’s Day who was a winner at Listed level, and she also has a yearling colt by Sword Of State.

Ashoka repaid the faithful when he posted an overdue and deserved victory at New Plymouth.

The Tony Pike-trained son of our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain had placed in all previous outings, including a brace of runner-up finishes, before carrying favourite backers to victory over 1200 metres.

Rider Sam Collett had him rolling along outside the leader before hitting the front early in the run home and the three-year-old dug deep to see it through.

Ashoka was bred by Pike with parents Wayne and Vicki and was sold to Hong Kong client Wilson Wong after impressing at the trials as a two-year-old.

He is out of the O’Reilly mare Lismore Diamond who also has a juvenile colt by Almanzor and a yearling filly by our resident son of Wootton Bassett.

Meanwhile, another son of Hello Youmzain in the Pike stable is still in contention for a trip south for the G1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas.

Happy Youmzain finished sixth from an awkward barrier in a three-year-old event at Ellerslie on Melbourne Cup Day over 1400 metres.

“It was a bit unfortunate from the draw, he was dragged to the outside and got a bit lost and unbalanced, but the last 200 metres of his race was really good,” Pike said.

“We’ll gallop him next Tuesday morning, possibly with the application of blinkers, and if we’re happy then he’s a genuine chance to go down.”

Tietar produced a gallant performance under a hefty weight at Grafton to double her winning tally and post her first from new quarters.

The Almanzor mare had broken her maiden from the Victorian stable of Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr before relocating to Matthew Dunn’s New South Wales operation and gained a deserved victory over 1600 metres.

With Jett Newman’s claim, Tietar still had to shoulder 61.5kg and stayed on gamely to score after hitting the front early in the run home.

“The pan was to be forward with the weight and Jett rode her beautifully,” stable representative Sharon Bolton said.

“She’s done a good job for us and is very tough.”

Tietar is owned by Roll The Dice Racing and partners after the syndication company went to A$220,000 to secure her with agent John Foote at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale where she was offered on our behalf by Bhima Thoroughbreds.

Her dam is the English-bred Zamindar mare Phenetic, a winner in France who we paid 38,000gns for at the 2014 Tattersalls December Mares’ Sale.

She is a half-sister to G3 Prix de Fontainbleau winner Glaswegian and the family of the G1 Prix de la Floret winer Etoile Montante and Country Grammar, successful in editions of the G1 Dubai World Cup and the G1 Hollywood Gold Cup

Dance To The Boom has further boosted her future broodmare value with her latest Melbourne Cup Day success at Flemington and with the promise of more to come for our daughter of Exceedance.

Expertly managed by trainer Bjorn Baker, the four-year-old continued her hot run of form this preparation when she claimed top honours in the G3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes over 1400 metres at Flemington.

It was the sternest test of her career off the back of consecutive wins on the Kensington track at Randwick and at Warwick Farm and she passed with flying colours.

“She’s under-rated and had an awkward gate, but she was tough at the end,” Baker said.

“She’s won six out of nine now and you don’t do that if you haven’t got a bit of ticker, she’s a good mare.”

Dance To The Boom has been ridden to her last two victories by Kerrin McEvoy.

“She’s a mare in really good form and I’ve been lucky enough to team up with her,” he said.

Dance To The Boom drew one from the outside and overcame that potential barrier to success in fine style.

“She’s very genuine and off that gate I went forward, I knew she’d have a finish and that’s exactly what she had.

“She got her toe into the ground, and she really loved it.”

We secured Dance To The Boom out of breeder Rosemont Stud’s draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for A$250,000.

She is the first foal of the unraced I Am Invincible mare Bim Bam Boom, who is a half-sister to the G1 Easter Handicap winner Albany Reunion and the Listed Champagne Stakes winner and top-flight placegetter Fast Dragon.

Well-related mare Thooza advanced her tidy record when the four-year-old remained unbeaten in the Central Districts.

Trained at Cambridge by Tony Pike, our daughter of Almanzor has been sparingly raced and her victory over 1300 metres at Tauherenikau was her third from eight appearances.

She had previously been successful on debut at Te Rapa as a two-year-old and then kicked off her following season with a victory at New Plymouth.

“We elected to come down here (to Tauherenikau) with her as she is slightly better left-handed,” he said.

A granddaughter of seven-tine Group 1 winer Seachange, Thooza was away well to travel in second spot, but it was only in the closing 100 metres that she hit top gear to overpower her Rating 75 rivals in the hands of Leah Hemi.

We purchased Thooza from breeder The Oaks Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $155,000.

She is out of the Darci Brahma mare Sea Goddess, who won on three occasions, and is from the family of the G1 Levin Classic winner Keepa Cruisin and G2 Alister Clark Stakes winner and G1 New Zealand Derby runner-up Antrim Coast.

Gifted homebred mare Sea Poem turned in a herculean effort at Bendigo to continue her march through the grades.

The Pierata four-year-old overcame the outside gate to win in outstanding style over 1100 metres and take her record to four wins and a placing from just eight appearances.

Trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes, Sea Poem drifted to a clear last and rider Nash Rawiller stayed on the fence into the straight.

He angled the mare across heels 250 metres from home, and she cut loose to win going away by a length and a-quarter.

“We left Nash with an open book from the outside gate, and it was a 10 out of 10 ride,” stable representative Will Evans said.

“She was always going to have to go back and Nash summed it up perfectly, the key to her are the firmer tracks.”

We offered Sea Poem at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale where she was bought for A$160,000 by Lindsay Park and Jamie McCalmont and is a daughter of the imported Street Cry mare Prose Poem.

She is a sister to multiple stakes winner Fencing with their dam the G1 French Oaks winner Latice, whose half-brother Lawman won twice at the highest level ahead of a successful stud career.

Te Akau purchased Prose Poem’s colt by Sword Of State for $50,000 at Karaka earlier this year and she also has a yearling son of our resident sire and is in foal to Chaldean.
