The Lance Noble-trained Mollify drew serious attention to her future staying prospects at Pukekohe where she made a successful middle-distance debut.
Our lightly raced daughter of So You Think relished the step up to 2100 metres with a commanding performance to comfortably put away her Rating 75 rivals.
“There’s a lot of upside to her and I think she’ll go through the grades pretty quickly,” Noble said.
“She just keeps getting better and has lacked a bit of a turn of foot over a mile, so we wanted to get her up over the ground. The Dunstan Stayers’ will be a target for her.”
Mollify jumped well from a wide gate to coast along in fourth spot and let down strongly in the run home in the hands of Warren Kennedy.
“It worked out perfectly for us and from the one-one it was all plain sailing,” he said.
“Once into the straight, she kicked and is progressing really nicely.”
Mollify broke her maiden from a handful of starts in Victoria for Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman before she returned home and now has three wins and four placings from 11 starts.
She is out the winning Lawman mare Mitigate, who we purchased for 50,000gns at the 2018 Tattersalls December Mares’ Sale.
She is a half-sister to the multiple international stakes winners Kick On and Sabratah and they are out of the Marju mare Marika, also successful at black type level.
Mitigate’s first foal Hilary’s Boy won four times in England while her second is Group performer Investigate with Mollify her only other to the races.
